Museum of Anatolian Civilizations

Founded by Atatürk and elected as the first "European Museum of the Year" in 1997, I thought that this could I really not miss. It's also one of the riches museums in the world and one of Ankaras few tourist attraction (but it didn't have a web page in english...).

Sorry to say that the museum sucked. Sure it was intresting to see 6000 years old wall paintings, but how much can you take..? After half an hour walking around I realised I was looking at the same exhibit I already had seen.

Anyway the Anatolian history is really intresting! Hard to imagin that Ankara was a part of the Roman Empire. And has been ruled by so many different religions and nationalities, hettites, assyerians, greek & mongols for only mentioning some!

Impressive right...
