Dolu Köyü İlköğretim Okuku

Yesterday was one of the best days of my lives!

I'm in the student club İlkyar that works with helping children in schools all over Turkey. Yesterday was the first trip I joined - 30 happy Boğaziçi students met up at 4 oclock in the morning to go to a ground school in Dolu, a little town outside Tekirdağ west of Istanbul. We were supposed to have classes for the children (6-15 years old), play with them and give them a library with childrens book that were collected from Istanbul. One of the goals were to make them more interested of university studies, so we posted picturers from Boğaziçi all over their school.

Since my turkish is not at a six year olds level yet (...) was my mission to document the day by photographing. The day ended in 1039 photos...! Because of confidentiality I can't put up most of the pics but I will try to find some that will be allowed.

I'm very happy to have gotten my own fan club - ten twelve year old girls that wouldn't let go of me for all day. As soon as they saw me they came running screaming "Happy, happy! love, love!" Hard to not feel great in that moment! But I have to admit that at some moments it was to overwelming so I had to hid at the toilet.
