Mado

Starting to realize its soon just a matter of days I'm going home, and it drives me crazy!
Starting to photo all everyday things too, the things I really don't wanna forget - Mado in Etiler for example.

Panoramas

I've started to go crazy about panoramas. Here are two from Sportsfest. Click on them to see in bigger size.

Ban Ki-Moon

Ban Ki-Moon, United Nations Secretary-General, succeeding Kofi Annan in 2007, came to Turkey and held a speach at our school!!! HUGE!! Many hundreds of people standing in line outside and about half of them got the opportunity to hear him speak. That guy really has important things to say! I'm ashamed that I still can't remember his name, but extremely fortunate to get to hear him.
Read what he said here.

Alone

Hairdresser

A warning, never ever go to a turkish hairdresser.
In Turkey it's interesting that being a hairdresser is a guy profession. And it's great that they fix your hair for only 5 lira!
But don't do it, just don't do it!

We were this happy before..
.

It's a bad sign when the hairdresser misses teeth and matching his pants with his cap.

Sports fest

More than...
20 Countries,
40 Universities,
800 Foreign Athletes,
1200 Athletes,

THE SPORTS FEST HAS BEGUN!

Duman concert!

We saw Dumans concert last week too at Yeditepe University. It was awesome!!! Duman is one of the most popular groups in Turkey right now and I really like them. The band combines elements of traditional Turkish folk music with modern rock.
I was jumping around, pretending I knew more than one sentence of the lyrics, great fun!

Leman Sam

I was asked by the organizers to be the photographer at the Leman Sam concert at campus. She is a popular Turkish singer, now in her sixties. It was a great experience! Everyone was singing along to all the songs and dancing traditional Halay. Listen to her here.

Suck it Fener!

Hahahahaha! The only thing that can resolves Besiktas and Galatasaray grief for not winning the football super-league, is the malice of that their arch-enemy Fenerbahce thought they won the league, but then realized they didn't!
A announcement from the loudspeakers said the at the same time playing Bursaspor-Besiktas scores was 2-2, witch would have put Fenerbahce with highest score, but actually Bursa run the game with 2-1 - witch was realized a couple of minutes later.
The man who made the announcement was detained and questioned by police but was released Monday after saying it was an honest mistake.

Read more in Hürriet and watch this hilarious video with Fenerbahce celebrating their non-existing title.

Congrats Bursa!

Bursaspor made history Sunday night and became just the second team outside Istanbul to win the Turkish league and only the fifth champion in the competition’s 52-year history. The last time the league trophy left Istanbul was in the 1983-1984 season, when Trabzonspor emerged victorious.
